Tridonic Licenses DALI Tech to ULT
Universal Lighting Technologies has signed a licensing agreement with Tridonic that allows Universal to use the Austrian company’s patented DALI technologies to manufacture DALI control gear.
Tridonic was the first manufacturer to launch digital dimmable electronic ballasts for fluorescent lamps. In doing so, the company laid the foundation for the development of the DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) standard, which is now prominent in the lighting industry throughout the world. Numerous products and basic patents for this standard, such as digital addressing and the digital interface with potential separation, are part of the Tridonic portfolio. In Europe Tridonic is considered a leading supplier in the digital lighting control sector.
For programmable lighting environments with unlimited scenes and versatility, DALI technology allows lighting fixtures to be assigned to a limitless variety of lighting groups, and each group can be programmed to perform multiple commands at the push of a button. Commands include on/off, light-level control, scene recall, and more. DaliPRO ballasts from Universal Lighting Technologies are compatible with DALI technology while also providing high-efficiency operation for energy savings.
