Pantone Stickers Evaluate Light Color
Pantone LLC, an X-Rite company and the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, announced the availability of PANTONE Lighting Indicator Stickers.
The quality of light plays a critical role in color appearance. And for designers and printers, making a color decision under the wrong lighting conditions can lead to costly and time-consuming mistakes. The new PANTONE Lighting Indicator Stickers make it easier to determine if colors are being viewed under the right lighting conditions for accurate color evaluation, specification, and matching.
“Proper lighting conditions are key to accurate color evaluation,” said Giovanni Marra, director of corporate marketing at Pantone. “PANTONE Lighting Indicator Stickers provide a simple and economical way for designers and manufacturers to gauge proper lighting and ensure accurate color communication throughout the design process.”
Each sticker has two light-sensitive patches that react to viewing illumination and change color under different lighting temperatures. Under proper D50-range lighting, the standard light source for graphic design and print, the two patches will appear to match. If lighting conditions do not fall in the D50 range, the two patches will appear different. The further the light source is from the D50 range, the greater the contrast appearance.
PANTONE Lighting Indicator Stickers have a peel-off adhesive back so designers can attach them to color proofs, color samples and references, ensuring accurate color decisions are made throughout the production process.
They are available online at www.pantone.com/lightingindicator and through PANTONE product resellers worldwide.
