2012 NextGen Luminaires Competition Splits
The 2012 Next Generation Luminaires competition (NGL) has been expanded to include separate indoor and outdoor competitions. Sponsored by the US Department of Energy, the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, and the International Association of Lighting Designers, the Next Generation Luminaires Solid State Lighting Design Competition recognizes and promotes excellence in the design of energy-efficient LED commercial lighting luminaires.
The 2012 Indoor Competition has officially launched. Look for the 2012 Outdoor Competition call for entries in March 2012.

- Winners’ announcement May 2012 at Lightfair International
The NGL competition will recognize evaluate entrants in 17 categories. Select fixtures will achieve Best in Class, meaning they stand out significantly above the other quality products in their category.
