MaxLite Creates Lighting and Technology University
To help utilities, distributors, specifiers, customers and other industry professionals better understand the latest developments in the lighting industry, MaxLite has created the MaxLite Lighting and Technology University. MLTU will develop and deliver seminars, webinars, video conferences and other presentations on the latest LED lighting technologies.
“Particularly with the emergence of LED bulbs and fixtures, users, reps and electrical distributors all need help in understanding the latest information,” said Greg Murphy, MaxLite director of training.
“The complexity of modern energy-efficient lighting – regulations, rebates, and product technologies – has grown ten-fold in the past decade, and the MaxLite Lighting and Technology University addresses the need for current accurate information. Even lighting novices can jump right and start learning while the advanced lighting professional will pick up new information.” Murphy has 20 years of teaching and training experience in the lighting industry and is the architect behind MLTU.
MaxLite has already delivered presentations to a broad range of lighting and energy professionals across North America. DOTs, IES chapters, university officials, municipalities, factory managers, lighting distributors and specifiers, and other key business executives, administrators and public officials have attended events. MaxLite is planning an extensive schedule of events throughout the year, and custom sessions are available upon request.
Of course, MLTU provides up-to-date product information on MaxLite’s innovative MaxLED line of luminaires and lamps, as well as Induction, HighMax and CFL products, and general and energy efficient lighting technologies and their applications. The University provides training to new hires, manufacturer representatives and attendees at lunch-and-learn events. To access the MLTU, visit university.maxlite.com or locate it under the Resources section of www.maxlite.com.
The MLTU hosts monthly webinars on the last Thursday of each month, focused on electrical distributors, utility workers and facility managers. The existing Webinar Library already features many topics including: LED Parking Garage and Fuel Station Fixtures; Induction Lighting; Commercial Outdoor Lighting; DLC Product Certifications that Increase Your Bottom Line; LED Flat Panels; Scotopic Lumens; and more. PowerPoint slides, Q&A sessions and videos are all available.
In the future, the MLTU plans to offer continuing education units (CEU) to attendees at select events.
