Lunera Expands into SoCal Manufacturing & Design Facility
Lunera Lighting, Inc., an LED lighting solutions leader, announced its expansion to a new manufacturing and design facility in Anaheim, California. The facility, in addition to Lunera’s headquarters in Redwood City, will play a central role in the company’s ambition to continuously innovate on its LED lighting technology and designs. The company’s new facility will enable greater control over its supply chain and fixture design, accelerating the innovation cycle.
“We truly embrace the rapid technology cycle of the LED landscape and our new manufacturing and design facility will help us leverage that speed to our advantage,” said Michael Keddington, CEO of Lunera Lighting. “By investing in R&D and manufacturing in our Southern California facility, we can provide the necessary scale and cost reductions for our customers while still offering high-quality lighting solutions, with flexible design capabilities and major advances in integrated control technology and innovative power distribution architecture.”
Lunera’s manufacturing and design facility will bring new jobs to Anaheim over the next 18 months, and will be led by the recently expanded executive team, including, Senior Vice President of Operations Shannon Paul Biggs, Chief Financial Officer George Sigler and Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Engineering Michael Bremser. The facility expansion is part of Lunera’s integrated approach to LED fixture design, applying expert knowledge from the building/construction, lighting and semiconductor industries.
The 26,328 square foot space will house a design lab, with 15-20 designers/engineers once fully operational. The facility will manufacture Lunera’s SERIES L7- linear LED luminaires for suspended applications; SERIES 22- recessed LED troffers and surface mountable fixtures; and custom retail products.
