Elinext Develops Gamification App for Emergency Lighting

Harnessing the increasingly popular trend of gamification to teach the importance of emergency lighting, Elinext Group this summer released a custom gamification application, Rescue Game, designed for mobile platforms. Elinext’s client was the e-marketing firm for Aprotec, a Swiss leader in the field of emergency lighting and security.

The Aprotec Rescue Game simulates evacuation of personnel in an emergency. There is a floor plan of an office building with 10 “people” in it. As a player, you have 30 seconds to arrange three exit signs containing emergency illumination in the optimal positions on the walls. The lights must help the people evacuate the floor as quickly as possible.

The visibility of emergency lights and the light amount are very important. The better the areas are illuminated, the faster people walk. The game thereby challenges users to find the best locations for emergency lighting and to beat their own time.

This gamified app is a proactive solution that serves as a marketing conduit to nurture interest in the Swiss emergency lighting manufacturer and its products. Rescue Game helps users learn the uses of and vital importance of emergency lighting.

It can run on the iPhone, iPad, as well as Android smartphones and tablets. The application is available for free download on Apple’s App Store and Google Play.

The injection of gamification techniques into various procedures and workaday tasks can enliven them and turn into a challenge. This immediately spikes engagement. “I am convinced that in the near future gamification will be embraced on a much larger scale by businesses worldwide. It is turning into a widely accepted approach to engage not only customers, but also employees,” said Eugene Grinkevich, Elinext Group’s Director of Business Development.
