The DOE Solid-State Lighting (SSL) Manufacturing R&D Initiative has been building government-industry partnerships since its 2009 addition to DOE’s 10-year-old SSL R&D program. The goal of the initiative is to develop a common framework of priorities, work together to enhance the quality and improve the cost of SSL products, and foster a significant U.S. role for SSL manufacturing—creating jobs and promoting the U.S.’s technology leadership in this field.
