Baccarat Opens Lighting Showroom in New York City
Michelle Klein, President & CEO of Baccarat North America, announced the opening of its first-ever lighting showroom in the US, at the Design & Decoration (D&D) Building in New York City. Greg Coccaro, who comes from an illustrious career in interior design, will serve as liaison to the A&D community, and manage the showroom on a day-to-day basis.
Embellishing the most prestigious tables and an essential of the art de la table for almost 250 years, Baccarat carries on its legendary status, from the iconic Harcourt glass to the mythic Dionysos carafe.
The showroom will be home to over 20 chandeliers, including a rotating 48-light Solstice Comète. This custom-made piece, which juxtaposes cutting-edge LED technology and the iconic design of the Baccarat Solstice, is one of the largest of its kind. Further, the space will showcase pieces created in collaboration with renowned designers such as Arik Levy, Philippe Starck, Jaime Hayon, Michele de Lucchi, Eriko Horiki, Yann Kersale, and Mathias. The new showroom will serve as a point of reference for the architecture and interior design community, with lighting and decorative pieces for a wide selection of projects—from residential to commercial, classic to contemporary.
Baccarat’s lighting collection showcases the brand’s unique position at the intersection of tradition and innovation. Between the Sfera collection’s elegant homage to a lamppost design and the sparkling dark crystal of the Zenith Midnight chandelier, Baccarat continues to capture the natural beauty of light in carefully crafted pieces that fill every room with brilliance and warmth.
With unrivaled imagination and creativity, Baccarat maintains its legacy as the world’s leading creator of luxury crystal. For over two hundred years, its pieces have illuminated the grandest halls of kings, tsars and maharajahs and to this day, the beauty of Baccarat continues to evolve.
In addition to its showrooms in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and now New York, Baccarat is working on the openings of A&D showrooms in major architectural centers around the world, such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, London and Mumbai. Baccarat has also developed an A&D website, www.studiobaccarat.com.
