2nd Ave Lighting Adds State-of-the-Art Gas Forge
To upgrade the company’s custom lighting manufacturing and delivery capabilities, 2nd Ave Lighting has installed a new state-of-the-art multi-port natural gas forge. 2nd Ave Lighting is an upscale brand and an American manufacturer of decorative lighting that values personalized designs, each created as a unique work of art.
“We custom built and installed a new multi-port natural gas forge that offers five separate burners for infinite heat control,” explained 2nd Ave Lighting CEO Robert Cohen. “This new capability allows us to precision-heat iron and other metals in specific areas of a lighting fixture, for dramatic effects. The installation of this new equipment will improve our forging time by 75 percent, significantly impacting our shipping times.”
2nd Ave artisans utilize the new forge to heat steel and other metals so they can be formed into a variety of shapes and styles used for popular lighting designs and accents. The finished metals are used as decorative accents and scrollwork for custom chandeliers and other lighting fixtures, from the diminutive to grand-scale masterworks.
“The beauty of the custom lighting business is the continuous integration of new technology with old world craftsmanship,” explained Cohen. “Our new Forge enables us to expand our manufacturing capabilities and expedite custom lighting orders quicker to meet our customer’s most demanding shipping requirements.”
The 2nd Ave. Lighting brand is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service by responding to individual needs. 2nd Ave uses only the finest materials, including handcrafted iron and exquisite crystal. With a wide selection of style, size, finish, shade, and crystal choices, each 2nd Ave. lighting fixture is unique. 2nd Ave projects include both standard and custom lighting for high-end residential, senior living, hotels, casinos, country clubs and restaurants throughout the United States and abroad. In addition, the company has developed streetscape lighting projects for master-planned communities, resorts and cityscapes.
